A Very Special Visit From Santa 🎅🏼
There was great excitement in school today as Santa came to visit all of the boys and girls in Scoil Chaitríona. He had treats for everyone, and the kids even got to sit into Santa’s sleigh!! 🛷🛷
Ger’s Mobile Farm 🐥🐶🐖
Ger’s mobile farm came to visit Scoil Chaitríona on Friday and it’s safe to say that we had the best day ever! 🥰🥰🥰
Junior Infant Buddies 😄🏠
5th and 6th class have paired up with Junior Infants this week to help with fine motor activities in the morning. Junior Infants have been working so hard with their buddies and I am so proud of them. ❤️
Reading Buddies
🍌🥕🥦
Senior Infants have been doing such a good job looking after our reading buddies this week when the Junior Infants are gone home. Our reading buddies love story time, and so do we. 💕
Welcome Back Senior Infants ❤️🤪
Welcome Junior Infants ❤️❤️❤️
🐣🐌🐛Spring has Sprung🐞🌼🌈
We have been on the lookout for signs of spring in our school this month.
We can hear and see birds singing, nests being built, flowers growing, buds appearing on the trees, insects exploring and baby animals being born.
We also had some visitors to our classroom....frogspawn!!! 🐸
We watched them grow into tadpoles and set them free back to their natural habitat.

🌻💐🥀The Florist🌺🌼🌷
We had a lovely time at the Florist during the month of March. We were busy arranging bouquets for customers, constructing flowers and designing our own flower with bright, vibrant colours.
We thought especially about all Ukrainian citizens as we learned about their national flower the Sunflower.
We wrote about the lifecycle of a sunflower, painted sunflowers and set sunflower seeds. 🌻

Sharing our favourite books on World Book Day 📚🧡
Thank you to Mrs. Smith's 5th & 6th class, who came to share their S.T.E.M. creations with us. We LOVED your
Scribble Bots!!
Heritage in schools
We were delighted to welcome back Tony to our classroom. Tony is a wildlife biologist with Heritage Ireland and uses stuffed birds of prey to allow us to see and touch birds such as Sparrowhawk and Peregrine Falcon; the fastest animal on the planet. He spoke to use about how birds are adapting to the ever changing environment and showed us some of Ireland's native birds and helped us draw our favourite bird. 🦅
The Vets was the theme for Aistear this February.
The Role play area was a busy spot, where our vets, veterinary nurses and receptionists cared for the sick animals in the veterinary surgery.
Unfortunately we lost some of our pets and had to create Lost posters to help find them. ☹
We decorated colourful butterflies 🦋 and learned all about the lifecycle of a frog.🐸
In our construction area our busy architects designed buildings for our pets and designed a veterinary practice.👷♀️👷♂️
Our construction workers built homes ranging from chicken coops to pig sty's all to keep our pets safe and warm.

Love is in the air ❤
January was extra cold in the Infant room where we were learning all about the Polar Regions. 🌏❄☃
We explored the Arctic & Antarctica regions in role play, made homes for the polar animals, designed warm hats, scarfs & gloves for our adventures, learned how to draw penguins, created the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) behind our igloos and dressed the Inuit people for the cold weather.
For November our Aistear theme is the 'The Doctors'.
There has been lots of fun and excitement making x-rays, filling prescriptions at the Pharmacy, filling our doctor bags with important tools, playing hospital in our small world and role play areas. 👩⚕️👨⚕️
Numeracy Activities in the Infant classroom
We have been working on sorting & comparing, counting & number in the past few weeks.
Happy Halloween from the Infant room🧛♂️🎃👻
In Aistear this month we were mixing potions, building spooky castles, making ghosts & pumpkin shopping in the farm shop.
