Principal's Address

We at Scoil Chaitríona are committed to educating all the children that pass through our doors, and our broad school curriculum and ethos focuses not only on the academic, but also on the spiritual ,the creative and the physical development of our children.

Our talented and supportive staff, through all of their contacts with our pupils, promote the Gospel values of inclusion, an enthusiasm for life, a pursuit of excellence, for learning and for individual growth within a closely-knit and supportive school community. I am passionate about providing high standards of education to the children in Scoil Chaitríona . I will strive to ensure that the children here will have access to high quality resources and best practice teaching and learning. I know you will continue to support our efforts during your child’s time in Scoil Chaitríona. I strongly believe that school is a place for children to discover and unlock their talents and skills in a fun and caring environment.

Our school environment is an inviting place to play, learn and grow. For young primary children in particular, its compact scale is manageable. From the classroom to the school’s yard, our teachers provide our pupils with engaging lessons and experiences in a caring and supportive ethos. Scoil Chaitríona is a school with an ethos, which holds the children at its heart.

As a village primary school located in an inclusive community and situated close to city centre cultural and educational facilities, we use our unique geographic position to its fullest by taking many field trips which complement the curriculum.
Parents are important in Scoil Chaitríona. Originally founded in 1899, Scoil Chaitríona always strives to maintain open and honest communication between parents and teachers. If you have any questions or concerns or need more information about any area of school life, always feel free to contact your child’s classroom teacher to arrange a meeting or telephone the school office to arrange for an appointment.

Newcomers to the school will have an exciting year ahead. We welcome returning pupils back to a new school year. All pupils have the advantage of joining a closely-knit community whose small size allows us to get to know each child as an individual. We hope that your child will feel the same way about the school.
We have some exciting times ahead. We will look forward to our new ASD suite and updating our existing building and I
would like to thank you personally for your continued commitment and support of the staff and pupils of the school.
